In less than a month he was hooked on Second Life and Luther Spectre now Luther van die Spookvolk was born and started his journey through Second Life.In Second Life he wonders the grid exploring, virtual clubbing and talking to old friends there, though not as much as he used to.While in Second Life feel free to say hello to him as he does not bite and likes to talk.

Welcome to the In-world Back Story of Luther van die Spookvolk
IntroductionLuther van die Spookvolk has been Andrew Turner’s main avatar since he first wondered into Second Life around 2007. The avatar itself has been through a number of changes over the years depending on his mood and whims at the time.Though since the day he found the famous Black Wings in a now long gone Shopping Mall within Second Life over 18 years ago my Avatar he has fell into the role of a Fallen Angel within Second Life.Now as he has played the role there so long and with recent change of surname within world he thought it was time to write a back story for his Avatar to give him little history and as an exercise in writing a backstory for a character in tabletop role-playing games.So here it is his first attempt at the back story.
Back StoryOriginally he was called Zurial an angel of the lowest order of angels called the Ishim. The Ishim were the closest to man because their tier is almost within reach of the human mind. Zurial’s order where those angels who appeared to prophets in dreams so they were always close to humanity.If only creation was perfect as God wanted it, then Zurial would of never existed in the first place. But he does exist and from the start he was imperfect as he always questioned everything and he had the nagging feeling there was always more than unquestioning service to God. So from the start Zurial was always at variance to rest of the angelic host, constantly at odds with his superiors.All this made worse with his exposure to Humans as he found them fascinating and intriguing especially the fact that some humans like himself questioned about life and universe around them. He also loved the fact that they followed a path of their own regardless their peers tried to bring them back into the fold. This mirrored his own existence within the Angelic hoard as his superiors constantly tried to get him to tow the line.Zurial finally escaped on to Earth and disappeared there when Lucifer and his Fallen Angels revolted. He used the war as distraction as his superiors were too busy to pay attention to a minor Angel to stop him escaping.So more for millennia Zurial stayed hidden among humans observing the war between the Angels and now Demons for the hearts and souls of humanity. Always making sure he kept out of the war directly though he did have a number of close shaves both with Angels and Demons but he always managed to escape.All this changed after the year 2000 as the world started to change as the hold of both God and Lucifer on humanity started to wane as humanity started to turn away from religion for various reasons. Zurial at this point decided to come out of hiding confident that his own Superiors would be far too busy trying to bring humanity in line to bother him.So Zurial took advantage of a virtual world called Second Life created by an American Company called Linden Labs to reach out and interact with humanity he loved. So the avatar Luther Spectre was created through which he made contact with humanity again. Over the years there he has changed his avatar to be closer to his original form including black wings and halo though they will always be a pale reflection of his true form.Zurial over his time in Second Life learnt a lot about humanity and found he was tempted by many vices of humanity had even started to enjoy them. He finally found a place where he could be finally free to find himself after countless millennia of fruitless searching.Recently Zurial changed his avatar’s name to Luther van die Spookvolk in a failed attempt to create a family in Second Life but kept the name as it felt right to him. Though he still hopes that he can form a family there.

Radio Spectre is the personal radio station of The Steam Powered Story Teller which plays on Luther van die Spookvolk's Linden Home in Second Life.The radio station itself plays a music from The Steam Powered Story Teller's own music collection which is a strange mixture of music ranging from Classic Rock, Steampunk to the likes of EBM and Industrial Music.The radio itself is hosted on one of The Steam Powered Story Teller's servers at their home using both IceCast and Mixxx to broadcast over the internet.
